Burlington Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking an energetic Activities Director to design, coordinate, and oversee recreational programs for residents in a long-term care setting.
The ideal candidate will have LTC experience, be passionate about enriching resident life, and possess or be willing to obtain an Activities Professional Certificate within six months. Must pass background checks and be able to work varied hours including weekends.
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and enthusiastic Activities Director to join our team at Burlington Health & Rehabilitation Center. The Activities Director plays a vital role in developing, coordinating, and overseeing recreational programs, group activities, special entertainment, and holiday events that meet the social, emotional, and recreational needs of our residents.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a long-term care setting and a passion for creating meaningful and engaging experiences that enhance residents' quality of life.
Develop, coordinate, and oversee recreational programs, group activities, special entertainment, and holiday events to meet the needs and interests of residents
Plan and implement a diverse activities calendar that promotes socialization, engagement, and overall well-being
Support, encourage, and motivate residents to participate in activities
Coordinate and supervise activities while ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents
Transport or coordinate transportation for residents to and from activities as needed
Accompany residents to special events and trips outside the facility
Coordinate with staff, families, and community resources to encourage resident and family involvement
Communicate with families as necessary regarding activities and resident participation
Assemble, organize, and maintain equipment and supplies used in the activities program
Ensure activity areas are organized and cleaned following programs
Maintain accurate activity records and documentation as required
Help create a welcoming, positive, and inclusive environment for all residents
Long-term care (LTC) experience preferred
Must have an Activities Professional Certificate or be willing to obtain certification within 6 months of employment
Must be able to successfully pass a background check
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience working with seniors preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, dependable, creative, and enthusiastic
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with residents, families, and facility staff
Ability to work the required hours and rotation
