Job summary

National Church Residences is seeking an Activities Director to lead and coordinate daily and monthly resident activities at Baptist Gardens in Atlanta. You will develop programs based on resident interests and needs, encouraging active participation and community engagement.

Responsibilities include budgeting, collaborating with staff and families, distributing calendars, and ensuring activities are conducted with dignity and in compliance with regulations. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification in activities programming or a degree in recreational therapy, social work, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as an Activities Director, Activities Coordinator, or related role preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company motor vehicle requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and engage residents with different interests and abilities.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with ability to learn new systems.
• Strong motivational skills and a high level of emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and lead daily and monthly resident activities, events, outings, trips, and celebrations.
• Develop programs based on resident interests, needs, and abilities.
• Encourage residents to participate, share their talents, and take an active role in community events.
• Coordinate shopping trips and other planned outings.
• Create and distribute monthly activity calendars and newsletters.
• Organize holiday celebrations and special events throughout the year.
• Conduct resident surveys to gather feedback and identify interests.
• Coordinate volunteer opportunities within the community and greater community.
• Work closely with property staff, residents, families, and community partners.
• Manage and monitor the annual activities budget.
• Maintain required records, reports, and documentation.
