Job summary

The Rehabilitation Center of Independence is seeking a Laundry Aide to support daily laundry operations for residents. The role involves sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens while maintaining sanitation standards.

You will work under the supervision of the Laundry Supervisor and collaborate with nursing and housekeeping staff to ensure timely service and resident comfort. A high school diploma and prior laundry/housekeeping experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of work experience in a commercial establishment with knowledge of laundry/housekeeping procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs general housekeeping and laundry duties to keep the center sanitary, safe, attractive, and orderly.
• Coordinates clothing inventories and identifies items for new residents.
• Prepares articles for washing and sorts soiled laundry into loads.
• Operates washing, drying, and ironing processes and inspects linens.
• Reports unmarked clothing and returns clean items to residents.
• Maintains and cleans laundry equipment and supplies.
• Works with staff to fulfill laundry service requests and infection prevention.
