Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a Laundry Aide to maintain linen inventory and support hospital operations. You will order linen, enter usage in the computer system, track issued/returned items, adjust par levels with the linen service, and assist departments with their linen needs.

You will also deliver and manage carts, and compile end-of-month linen reports. Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, strong organizational and communication skills, basic computer knowledge,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment.
• Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics to a wide and diverse audience.
• Basic working knowledge of computers and office equipment.
• Experience in Healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate linen inventory levels in the Linen Room and in the departments serviced.
• Orders linen daily based on patient census.
• Operates computer system to enter linen usage.
• Keeps accurate record of linen issued and returned.
• Adjusts daily par levels with the linen service company via fax or phone.
• Assists customers with usage needs; adjusts par levels accordingly.
• Delivers special request linen to requesting area.
• Transports soiled linen carts to designated linen service holding area.
• Compiles, prints and delivers end of month linen report with Accounts Payable.
• Issues supplies/equipment to all areas of the hospital.
• Assists in stock replacement for the distribution area.
