Avardis Health is seeking a qualified Certified Medication Aide to join our team at Forrest Oakes Health. The candidate will verify resident identities, document medications, and collaborate with supervisory nurses to resolve any medication concerns.

This full-time (12-hour shifts) position emphasizes patient safety and compassionate care. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, NC Board of Nursing 24-hour training, and passing the state competency exam.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, or experience as required by state regulations.
• Completed 24-hour training program provided by NC Board of Nursing.
• Passed a State-administered competency exam.
• You must be qualified, compassionate, and dedicated to a job well done.

Responsibilities

• Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records drug, dosage, and time of administration.
• Clarifies any order or treatment regimen believed to be inaccurate or contraindicated by consulting with supervisory nurse; notify supervisor when deciding not to administer.
• Takes and records vital signs upon administration of medications when required.
• Orders and re-orders medications in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Maintains neat, clean medication room and cart and ensures residents do not access medications other than those prescribed.
• Completes required documentation accurately and timely.
• Ensures effective interactions with patients and families.
• Ensures compliance with resident rights policies.
• Attends and participates in care team conferences or meetings as directed by supervisor.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
