Job summary

Heartland Healthcare in Spearfish, SD seeks a dependable Day Shift Medication Aide to join the assisted living team. You will safely administer medications, support resident care, and help maintain a calm, secure overnight environment as delegated by the RN.

The role requires attention to detail, strong documentation, and compassionate, resident-centered care aligned with each resident’s plan of care and eMAR. Full-time opportunity with benefits.

Qualifications

• High School education/GED or previous work experience.
• Current Medication Aide certification (required).
• Ability to work independently and remain alert during overnight hours.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and reminders per eMAR and RN delegation.
• Provide direct care to residents as outlined in care plans.
• Document changes in condition and report to RN.
• Complete required paperwork and maintain records.
• Comply with state regulations and policies (HIPAA, rights).
• Support activity programming and resident engagement.
• Collaborate with team for 24-hour coverage and shift reports.
