Qualifications

• Previous cooking or food service experience preferred
• Experience in a healthcare, senior living, restaurant, or institutional food service setting is a plus
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food handling practices
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary instructions
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Must demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and co-workers

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements
• Ensure meals are prepared and served on time
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection-control guidelines
• Prepare meals according to residents’ special dietary needs and physician-ordered restrictions
• Ensure food is properly portioned, labeled, stored, and maintained at appropriate temperatures
• Assist with meal service and ensure residents receive the correct meals and appropriate portions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area
• Properly operate and maintain kitchen equipment
• Monitor food supplies and notify the appropriate supervisor of shortages or needed items
• Follow proper procedures for food storage, handling, and disposal
• Complete required cleaning and sanitation duties
• Attend required in-service training programs
• Demonstrate respectful and professional behavior toward residents, families, co-workers, and facility contacts
• Assist in other dietary areas and duties as directed by the Dietary Manager or Director of Food Services
