Job summary

The Habitat Company is seeking an Assistant Community Manager in Chicago to support the Community Manager in daily operations, reporting rents and deposits, and assisting with audits and resident communications.

You will handle tasks from processing payables to coordinating certifications, ensuring compliance with HUD guidelines and company policies, while contributing to community activities and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to assist the property manager in day-to-day activities.
• IL Leasing License or eligibility to obtain within 120 days of hire.
• COS and EIV certifications preferred.
• Experience with recertifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents professionally by phone or in person.
• Process accounts payable weekly.
• Attend trainings/meetings as directed by management.
• Assist with audits and correspondence to HUD/IHDA as needed.
• Generate and close work orders in the property management system.
• Monitor recertifications and HUD requirements.
• Maintain resident files and incident reports.
• Assist with community events and marketing ideas.
• Ensure compliance with Fair Housing and ADA.
