Job summary

Merriam Gardens Healthcare & Rehab Center is seeking a compassionate Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will plan, implement, and evaluate recreational activities that promote socialization, physical fitness, and mental stimulation for residents.

In this role, you will collaborate with the therapy team, maintain schedules and records, and help create a warm, welcoming environment that supports five-star care in a state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organization, and implementation of recreational activities for residents.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Coordinate and participate in activities, games, and events to stimulate residents.
• Collaborate with therapy team to develop individualized activity plans.
• Monitor and evaluate activity effectiveness and suggest improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity schedules.
• Assist with keeping the activity department clean and organized.
