Job summary

Merriam Gardens Healthcare & Rehabilitation seeks an Activity Aide-FT to enhance residents’ physical, emotional, and social well‑being through engaging activities. Plan and implement recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to each resident’s needs.

Collaborate with the rehab team to integrate activities into treatment plans, maintain accurate participation records, and support care conferences. A warm, welcoming approach is essential to our culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents, if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Planning and implementing recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents, tailored to their individual needs and preferences.
• Coordinating with the rehabilitation team to incorporate activities into individualized treatment plans.
• Maintaining accurate records of resident participation and progress.
• Building relationships with residents, families, and staff to ensure a warm and welcoming environment.
• Participating in daily care conferences and contributing to care planning discussions.
• Providing support to other departments as needed, such as assisting with mealtime, transportation, and medication management.
