Job summary

A leading construction consulting firm is seeking a Resident Engineer / Senior Construction Inspector in Tallahassee, Florida. You will oversee construction projects, ensuring adherence to FAA specifications and quality control standards. About the job Resident Engineer / Senior Construction Inspector

As a Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for tracking, monitoring, and reporting on every phase of the construction process, ensuring compliance with quality control standards, and monitoring progress reports, schedules, and budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction inspection, with expertise in airfield construction such as taxiways/runways and FAA specifications.

This role will be assigned to a long-term, year-round taxiway rehabilitation Construction project in Northern Florida starting in April 2023 - October 2024. Additional phases of construction are anticipated through 2025. Comprehensive compensation package available.

Requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent with minimum 10 years of experience in construction field required.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction practices, techniques, FAA specifications, and regulations.
  • Expertise in general, civil, airfield civil, and airfield electrical construction.
  • Experience in Airport environment related to driving on an active airfield.
  • NICET certification at Level III or IV or equivalent experience/certification is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing and reliable transportation to job site location.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve construction-related issues.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Position requires full knowledge and adherence to QA standards, plans and specifications. Ability to maintain a daily job log with clear written communications.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate construction activities with the Airport owner and operations staff and represent OUR CLIENT in a professional manner is a must.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of FAA specifications and testing requirement for airfield pavement (P-401), airfield electrical and earthwork.
