Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is seeking a construction administration professional to ensure compliance with State and Federal requirements on ITS and highway contracts. This role includes evaluating materials, managing contracts up to $200,000, and supervising field office staff and budgets.

The position requires a B.S. in Civil Engineering, registration with the Arizona Board of Technical Registration and eventual Arizona PE licensure within six months of employment.

Qualifications

• B.S Degree in Civil Engineering or other field closely related to highway construction.
• Candidates will be required to meet registration requirements set forth by the Arizona Technical Board of Registration and attain an Arizona PE within 6 months of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate progress of highway construction projects and review material sampling and testing.
• Confer with internal and external agencies to resolve conflicts at the lowest level possible; elevate as needed.
• Write, track and implement contract supplemental agreements as needed; ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Supervise field office staff including hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, promotions and disciplinary actions; manage budget and assets.

Masters Degree in Civil Engineering / Public or Business Administration or related field
