Job description

Salary Depends on Experience: $80,000 - $120,000

Responsibilities
  • A. Execute the assigned work in accordance with client (Structures/Facilities) procedures and guidelines for design management.
  • B. Oversee the Project from start to completion.
  • C. Assist in preparing project and work plans.
  • D. Evaluate, prepare, and recommend a sequence of construction activities.
  • E. Provide guidance to contractor regarding appropriate construction methods and schedules within a railroad environment.
  • F. Ensure that the Project activities are executed according to scope and on schedule.
  • G. Ensure that work is performed in accordance with client and OSHA safety practices.
  • H. Maintain all as-built drawings to submit to client at the conclusion of the Project.
  • I. Review design and shop-drawings.
  • J. Monitor, record, and validate work progress and third-party contractor invoices for payment and compare against contractor’s monthly progress invoices.
  • K. Prepare and maintain daily reports that include all details of daily construction activities.
  • L. Maintain daily contractor site attendance lists and validate against contractor monthly certified payrolls.
  • M. Ensure contractors have the appropriate on-site personnel security credentials.
  • N. Coordinate with third-party contractors to ensure that the Project look‑ahead schedules and work plans are properly integrated.
  • O. Manage community relations issues that may arise during construction, such as noise and traffic concerns caused by construction activities.
  • P. Solve engineering and construction related problems and escalation to client when necessary.
  • Q. Ensure that all comments from client, and other entities are incorporated into the approved design and shop drawings.
  • R. Ensure that work is performed in accordance subsequent approved changes and client direction.
  • S. Ensure that quality, safety, and daily work plans, shop drawings, construction schedules, and weekend outage plans are finalized timely.
  • T. Perform field inspections and monitor construction to ensure compliance with all contract documents, client approved work plans, shop drawings, staging plans, Project safety and quality plans, and maintenance and protection of traffic plans.
  • U. Prepare agendas and attend and record Project status meetings with contractor, the awarded design consultant.
  • V. Ensure contractor deliverables, including material certificates and test data, are submitted timely.
  • W. Resolve Contractor Requests for Information (“RFIs”) with design consultant.
  • X. Investigate change requests including design recommendations and resolve proposed changes.
  • Y. Monitor and review time and materials work and daily records.
  • Z. Assist in preparing documents for internal and external audits.
