Job summary

The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising is seeking a Resident Engineer in New York. In this role, you will perform complex construction assignments and conduct project field coordination. A Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in construction engineering are required, along with a relevant professional engineering license.

Job description

In the role of Resident Engineer, we'll count on you to:

• Perform complex construction assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard construction engineering techniques and procedures
• Conduct project field coordination, documentation, cost monitoring, bidding and scheduling
• Receive, issue and track RFIs, submittals and other required data
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years experience in construction engineering

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field
• Experience using Microsoft Office, Estimating & CPM Scheduling Software, and web-based document collaboration software.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
