Job summary

The Sanneh Foundation in Minnesota seeks a Community Outreach VISTA to assess and strengthen outreach practices, partnership networks, and engagement strategies, advancing organizational capacity.

You will develop a Sanneh Engagement Committee framework, build a centralized partnership-tracking system, and create templates, FAQs, and training materials to support sustained community connections.

Job description

• Throughout the service year, the VISTA will:Assess existing community outreach practices, partnership networks, engagement strategies, and internal communication systems to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.


• Develop and refine a Sanneh Engagement Committee framework, including standardized meeting protocols, outreach plans, partnership-mapping processes, and systems for documenting community engagement opportunities.


• Build skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, and data organization by developing and implementing a centralized partnership-tracking system or CRM, supporting information migration, and creating sustainable processes for managing partner relationships and contributed resources.


• Research best practices in community engagement, partnership development, outreach, and resource recruitment to inform recommendations for improving organizational capacity.


• Develop reusable outreach templates, engagement materials, FAQs, talking points, infographics, and staff and volunteer training resources that support consistent community communication and partnership development.


• Design and pilot post-event engagement and follow-up procedures that clarify communication responsibilities, contact management, and next steps for maintaining community relationships.


• Collaborate with relevant TSF staff to develop measures for evaluating outreach effectiveness, partnership development, community engagement, and program participation, using findings to recommend improvements.


• Strengthen professional communication, collaboration, and organizational development skills by gathering staff feedback, documenting effective practices, refining systems, and supporting implementation across departments.


• Develop sustainability documentation, training guides, and transition materials that enable TSF staff and future volunteers to maintain and improve outreach and partnership systems beyond the VISTA service year.

Member Duties :

The Community Outreach & Coordinator VISTA will develop professional knowledge and transferable skills in community engagement, partnership development, organizational communication, stakeholder relationship management, and capacity building. Through research, collaboration, assessment, and implementation, the VISTA will strengthen The Sanneh Foundation’s capacity to build sustainable community partnerships, improve outreach systems, and increase organizational effectiveness in connecting community members with available resources and programming.
