Job summary

Langdon Place of Dover in Dover, NH is seeking an Activities Assistant to help plan and deliver engaging recreational, social, and wellness programs that enhance residents’ quality of life. You will work closely with the Activities Director to create meaningful experiences that promote participation, independence, and well-being for seniors.

Ideal candidates are energetic, creative, organized, and enjoy building relationships with older adults.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification, or ability to obtain.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license to transport residents.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude, patience, creativity, and professionalism.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and conducting recreational and social activities
• Help create and post monthly activity calendars
• Encourage resident participation through individual visits and group programming
• Escort residents to and from activities and events
• Assist with community outings and transportation coordination, including driving residents
• Document resident participation and progress accurately
• Observe and report changes in resident behavior, mood, or engagement
• Maintain activity supplies and program materials
• Support Resident and Family Council meetings as assigned
• Collaborate with nursing and other departments to meet resident needs
• Transport residents using facility vehicles for outings, appointments, and community events
• Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and infection control standards
• Perform other duties as assigned
