Langdon Place of Portsmouth is seeking a Part-Time Activities Assistant to join our team in Portsmouth, NH. You will help plan and run recreational and therapeutic activities for residents, lead group and individual sessions, and foster a lively, caring environment.

• Previous experience working with seniors or in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
• Energetic, outgoing, creative, and compassionate personality.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage residents with varying interests and abilities.
• Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to work a flexible part-time schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and implementing recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents
• Lead and participate in group and individual activities
• Encourage residents to participate in programs based on their interests and abilities
• Assist with games, crafts, music, exercise, celebrations, outings, and special events
• Help develop creative and engaging activities that meet a variety of resident interests
• Provide one-on-one activities and companionship when appropriate
• Assist residents to and from scheduled activities and programs
• Help prepare activity areas and supplies before programs and clean up afterward
• Maintain activity calendars, attendance records, and other documentation as needed
• Assist with community outings and resident events
• Build positive relationships with residents and their families
• Work collaboratively with nursing and other departments to support residents' overall well-being
• Promote resident dignity, independence, choice, and quality of life
