Job summary

Gateway Adult Residential Care in Eugene, OR is seeking an Activities Assistant to work with the Activity Director to plan, facilitate, and evaluate daily, weekly, and monthly events that engage residents and meet their physical, spiritual, intellectual, creative, and emotional needs. The role supports enhancing quality of life and fostering community.

A background check and drug test are required, along with First Aid and Food Handlers Card.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and facilitating activities that meet residents' physical, spiritual, intellectual, creative, and emotional needs.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
• Maintain First Aid and Food Handlers Card.
• Oregon Driver's License within 15 days of hire; able to drive company van/bus.
• Experience with dementia or Alzheimer’s care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate meaningful daily, weekly, and monthly events to encourage socialization and recreation.
• Coordinate logistics, staff training, budgets, and transportation for events.
• Observe participants and collect feedback to improve activities and ensure person-centered plans for residents.
• Adhere to safety procedures and report medical concerns or suspected abuse as required.
