Job summary

Gateway Gardens in Eugene, OR is seeking an Activities Assistant to partner with the Activity Director to plan and manage daily, weekly, and monthly events that engage residents across physical, spiritual, intellectual, creative, and emotional needs.

You will coordinate logistics, supervise staff and volunteers, and ensure events run on time and within budget while maintaining records and safety compliance. A valid Oregon driver’s license and ability to drive the company van/bus are required.

Qualifications

• Background check and drug test required.
• Maintain current First Aid and Food Handlers Card.
• Oregon Driver's License required within 15 days of hire.
• Maintain required annual training hours.
• Ability to drive or learn to drive the company's van and bus.
• Demonstrated aptitude for working with caregivers, seniors, disabled individuals, and/or individuals with dementia.
• Commitment to Gateway Adult Residential Care mission.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate daily, weekly, and monthly events for residents.
• Coordinate logistics, budgets, staff and volunteers for activities.
• Assist residents in attending activities and ensure accessibility.
• Recordkeeping on event planning and resources; monitor safety and incidents.
• Report medical concerns and follow safety procedures; uphold compliance.
