Job summary

Cantex Continuing Care Network is seeking a Nutrition Services Aide to support dining services in a long-term care setting. You may prepare and serve meals, assist with tray assembly, wash and sanitize equipment, and deliver nourishments while ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.

The role emphasizes quality resident dining, infection prevention, and adherence to safety standards, with opportunities to work closely with the care team and participate in in-services.

Qualifications

• Current state Food Handler Certificate.
• Experience in food service, dietary services, meal preparation, and operation of food service equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, safe food handling, and infection prevention preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assures that sanitation, food safety, and quality standards are met.
• Washes and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, tableware, and utensils as needed.
• Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment and food service equipment as assigned.
• Completes required logs and documentation as assigned.
• Prepares dining room tables and patient room trays with appropriate tableware, condiments, and tray tickets.
• Assists with food preparation, meal assembly, tray line operations, and portioning of food servings.
• Prepares and serves beverages for tray line operations and dining rooms.
• Delivers nourishments and nutritional supplements identified with patient labels.
