Job summary

The role requires reading and following orders, communicating effectively with residents and staff, and performing tasks in a fast-paced healthcare setting. A high school diploma or GED and ServeSafe-type certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
• Food Handler certification per state requirements (ServeSafe preferred).
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up dining areas with cleanliness and order.
• Prepare meals under the direction of dietary manager and cook.
• Deliver dishes and trays to designated rooms and times.
• Take down dining areas and collect plates, glasses, dishes, and trash.
• Clean food prep areas, kitchen, dishes, and equipment.
• Stock ingredients and monitor inventory of food, beverages, and supplies.
• Ensure meals align with orders or diet instructions for residents.
• Communicate effectively with residents, visitors, families, staff, and supervisors.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
• Report concerns to the appropriate department head and follow up as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local rules and facility policies.
