Job summary

Midwest Health, Inc. in Kansas seeks a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide treatments, tests, and evaluations under the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist. You will collaborate with Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists to develop and implement patient care plans and document progress.

You will assist in equipment management, ensure regulatory compliance, and support residents with daily activities while maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Comply with Facility policies and procedures.
• Report abuse/neglect to Administrator or Director of Nursing.
• Report to on-site Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapist.
• Treat residents, family, visitors with dignity and respect.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and family information.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled.
• Collaborate with Physical/Occupational/Speech Therapy to plan treatments; evaluate resident performance and communicate with nursing/physicians.
• Document progress and treatments per therapy plans.
• Maintain/inventory durable medical equipment; order supplies/equipment.
• Ensure compliance with State/Federal Rehabilitation Therapy regs; participate in meetings; handle billing, questionnaires, progress notes.
• Ensure compliance with bloodborne pathogens, infection control, hazardous materials, and fire safety.
• Ensure compliance to Resident’s Rights.

Responsibilities

• Contact on-site therapists and follow their directions.
• Treat residents and others with dignity and respect.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and family information.
• Be punctual and reliable in attendance.
• Collaborate with therapy team to plan and evaluate treatments; communicate with nursing/physicians.
• Document resident progress and treatments as directed by the Therapist.
• Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering of therapy equipment.
• Comply with regulations and participate in meetings; manage therapy billing and notes.
• Follow safety and privacy regulations (infection control, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous materials), uphold Residents’ Rights.
