Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living’s The Commons in Lincoln is seeking a part-time Activity Assistant for our Skilled Nursing Rehab facility. You will organize and implement programs designed to meet residents' individual needs and promote self-esteem in a caring, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities include developing daily programs, leading activities, supporting independence, and understanding residents' backgrounds, abilities, and cognitive needs.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma, bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues.
• Training in recreational activities and Alzheimer’s/dementias knowledge is preferred.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and the community.
• Able to coordinate multiple tasks with a positive attitude under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assists in development and implementation of an innovative daily program for residents.
• Leads one-on-ones, small group, and large group activities according to the schedule.
• Supports independent activity pursuits for residents, individually or in groups.
• Understands residents' backgrounds, participation needs, and abilities to tailor activities.
