Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide (PCA) to provide quality care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents. The role includes reporting incidents, maintaining policies, and supporting residents with daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed an approved personal care aide program per state regulations.
• Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must contribute to the nursing team and follow supervisor instructions.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must safely lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics.
• Must wear designated uniform with name badge during shifts.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Must represent the community positively and professionally.
• Must attend all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care and assistance with activities of daily living to residents.
• Report incidents and care concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures.
• Assist residents with daily living activities.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed.
• Respond promptly to resident calls and emergencies.
• Plan and conduct resident activity programs.
• Follow confidentiality policies for resident information.
• Assist residents to dining and activities and monitor attendance.
• Report resident health status and concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Communicate status and appointments to colleagues in writing.
• Provide emotional support to new residents during move-in.
