Job summary

Agency for Persons with Disabilities in Florida seeks a Residential Unit Specialist to support residents with individualized active treatment plans and ensure safety and well‑being.

Responsibilities include implementing daily programs, supervising residents, documenting incidents, and assisting with transports and overnight care as needed. The role requires shifts including evenings or nights, compliance with training, health screenings, and background checks.

Qualifications

• Must maintain certification in Prevention and Safety Strategies, CPR and Direct Care In-Service.
• Must be willing to work beyond the normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels and meet the needs of the Agency.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and services to residents in implementing individualized active treatment plans.
• Transport and/or escort residents to ensure safety and well‑being.
• Document resident information and participate in meetings regarding residents’ needs and goals.
• Perform first aid for resident injuries and illnesses and complete incident reports within one hour.
• Remain on duty to ensure adequate staffing and participate in mandatory training.
