Job summary

Midwest Health, Inc. is seeking a Direct Care Worker (non-meds) to provide direct care to community residents, focusing on activities of daily living, and to assist with housekeeping, laundry, and mealtime service.

You will work under the Executive Director, perform duties as assigned, and support resident well-being with strong safety and documentation practices.

Must be available for rotating weekends and holidays, and comply with state and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to assist with activities of daily living.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents in and out of bed and into wheelchair.
• Assist residents in bathing.
• Assist residents in dressing or undressing.
• Assist resident to bathroom and provide peri care as needed.
• Take and record vital signs of residents according to schedule.
• Assist residents to dining area for meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• May be required to strip bedding and replace with clean linens.
• May be required to assist in personal grooming of residents.
• Turn residents as needed per care plan.
• Clean bedpans and empty catheter bags.
• Document and report information regarding residents before leaving the shift.
• Maintain med room in a clean and orderly manner.
• Provide housekeeping/cleaning services as required.
• Provide laundry and linen service as required.
• Give shift reports as required on resident status.
• Operate and maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and resident rights requirements.
