Job summary

Catholic Charities Steuben/Livingston is hiring a Counselor Assistant on a per diem basis to support residents in a behavioral health setting. The role involves care coordination, intake and orientation, and collaboration with clinical staff to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate’s degree in Human Service related field, or CASAC-T preferred.
Two years of prior experience in substance abuse or related human service field required.
As per Justice Center recommendations, all counselor assistants must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

Assists in the care of residents and supports daily operation of the facility.
Provides person-centered care coordination and case management to residents.
Maintains safety and confidentiality of residents and records.
Transports residents in agency vehicles to program related activities.
Performs screening, intake, and orientation services to residents.
Co-facilitates groups with CASAC level or higher, as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor.
Meets with residents for progress notes and maintains case management documentation.
