We are seeking a caring and compassionate Resident Care Associate to join our team in Bel Air, MD. The ideal candidate will demonstrate patience and a genuine commitment to providing exceptional care to our residents, including those with dementia. This role involves working in an assisted living and memory care environment, ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of all residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and respectful care to residents, with special attention to those with dementia and memory care needs.
• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Monitor and report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to the nursing staff.
• Support a safe and clean-living environment for all residents.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• Maintain punctuality and reliability in all assigned shifts and duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated caring and compassionate nature.
• Patience and understanding, especially when working with dementia residents.
• Experience or willingness to work in assisted living and memory care settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow care plans.
• Punctual and dependable attendance record.
• Must provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.
• Must provide verification of MMR and Chicken Pox immunity/vaccination.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED.
• Must be able to work well with peers in a congenial work environment, and above all, maintain the utmost compassion and dignity to the residents and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights.
• In exigent circumstances, the employee may be subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather,evacuation, temporary staffing shortages, etc.).
• Must adhere to Viva Senior Living’s attendance policies and follow the terms and conditions of employment as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
