Job summary

The Employee Connect is seeking a Memory Care Aide in Catonsville, MD to provide compassionate, one-on-one support in our memory care unit. This full-time, on-site role focuses on residents with Alzheimer's and other dementias.

You will assist with daily activities, support mobility, observe and report changes, and help keep residents safe and engaged through structured activities. A high school diploma and healthcare experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of healthcare or caregiving experience.
• CNA certification preferred or may be required by state regulations.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Background check and references must be cleared.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care and emotional support to memory care residents.
• Assist with activities of daily living: bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Assist residents with mobility and transfers using proper techniques.
• Support meals with proper nutrition and hydration, honoring dietary needs.
• Document care and changes in condition for nursing staff.
• Engage residents in recreational and cognitive activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
• Perform light housekeeping and follow infection control procedures.

Memory Care Aide

Location: Catonsville, MD

Pay Rate: $30,000 – $40,000 per year

Position Overview

A leading senior living organization is seeking compassionate and dedicated Memory Care Aides to join our growing team in Catonsville, Maryland. This is a full-time, on-site position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. We are currently hiring four qualified candidates to support our memory care community.

Key Responsibilities

• As a Memory Care Aide, you will provide direct personal care and emotional support to residents in our specialized memory care unit
• Your daily responsibilities will include assisting residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting, while maintaining dignity and respect at all times
• You will help residents with mobility and transferring using proper techniques and equipment to ensure safety for both residents and staff
• You will support residents during meal times, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration while accommodating individual dietary needs and preferences
• Documentation of resident care, activities, and any changes in condition will be maintained accurately and reported to nursing staff promptly
• You will participate in engaging residents in meaningful recreational and therapeutic activities designed to enhance quality of life and cognitive stimulation
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment is essential to this role
• You will assist with light housekeeping duties within resident rooms and common areas while following infection control and safety protocols

Requirements

• Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED
• One year of experience in a healthcare or caregiving setting, such as a nursing home, assisted living facility, or hospital, is required
• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or completion of a nursing assistant course is preferred and may be required depending on state regulations
• You must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to understand and respond to residents' needs compassionately
• Physical capability to lift, transfer, and assist residents safely, as well as the ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods, is necessary
• A valid driver's license with reliable transportation to maintain consistent attendance is required
• Certification in CPR/BLS through the American Heart Association or equivalent is required
• You must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history screening and reference verification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a related field is preferred
