Job summary

Apploi is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct care to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse, following facility policies and procedures. You will report resident needs and concerns to a licensed nurse and support the care team in daily activities.

The position emphasizes dependable attendance, following directions, and clear documentation of resident status and responses to care. Strong communication with residents and family is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an approved Nursing Assistant Training Program or be eligible to enter such a program and pass state competency within 120 days.
• Prior experience as a care provider is preferred.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to deal effectively with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and public.
• Willingness to follow directions.
• Dependability in attendance and available by telephone or message.

Responsibilities

• Follow written and oral directions.
• Follow established performance standards and patient care policies and procedures.
• Assist new employees in following facility policies and procedures.
• Identify resident problems and report them to a charge nurse or licensed nurse.
• Complete assignments timely, completely and accurately.
• Conduct resident rounds as assigned.
• Initiate corrective action as necessary and/or seek assistance of a licensed nurse.
• Identify safety hazards and emergency situations and initiate corrective action.
• Attend in-service classes and complete assignments.
• Maintain responsibility for facility procedures related to equipment and supplies within the unit.
• Document incidents and/or unusual problems according to facility procedures.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and development of care plans.

Education

Nursing Assistant Training Program graduate or eligible

Experience as care provider preferred

Ability to make independent decisions

Ability to deal effectively with personnel, residents, family members, and public

Willingness to follow directions

Dependability in attendance and availability by phone/message
