Allied Services is seeking a Resident Assistant in Scranton, PA. The role is primarily responsible for implementing programs for individuals in the Intermediate Care Facility, spending most time in direct contact with clients.
A high school diploma is preferred along with two years of relevant experience. CPR certification and a valid U.S. driver's license may be required. The Assistant will need good communication and interpersonal skills to engage with individuals and families effectively.
Administratively responsible to the Supervisor and/or the Assistant Supervisor on duty, the Resident Assistant carries out assigned programs for individuals in the Intermediate Care Facility Program (ICF/ID). A minimum of 85% of work time is spent in direct individual contact. Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the age‑specific needs of the individuals served. No supervision is exercised and no positions report to this role.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Two (2) years of experience working with intellectually or developmentally disabled individuals preferred.
Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check. Must pass a post‑job offer pre‑placement physical exam and initial and subsequent annual TB screenings. CPR certification must be obtained and maintained. Must adhere to established company/program policies and procedures regarding safety and infection control. Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are required for effective communication with individuals on caseload, families, outside agency representatives, and program staff. A valid U.S. driver’s license may be required for frequent and unscheduled travel, such as individual programming, transport, and appointments. Must successfully complete Allied’s Driver Training Program, as stated by policy #2.43.
