Job summary

Heartwood is seeking Weekend Resident Assistants to join a caring team providing top-notch resident care. Training to become a CNA is paid by Heartwood, with nursing scholarships and loan forgiveness programs available.

The role offers weekend shifts, 40 hours every two weeks, and optional extra weekday shifts. You will assist with daily living activities, vital signs, and care planning while supporting residents to achieve their best day.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program.
• Current CNA certification in Minnesota within 4 months of employment.
• English language communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and physical care to residents to meet daily needs.
• Assist residents with dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting.
• Assist in transferring, repositioning and walking.
• Obtain vital signs accurately and report health status changes.
• Maintain documentation per regulations and best practices.
• Participate in care planning and care conferences as resident advocate.

Training paid for by Heartwood to become a CNA. In addition, we will pay you while training. Nursing scholarship up to $5,000 per school year for those interested in pursuing a nursing degree program.Pay Range: $27.61 per hour. Option to pick up additional weekday shifts.1st weekend: Saturday and Sunday, 6:00am - 2:30pm (16 hours)2nd weekend: Saturday and Sunday, 6:00am - 6:30pm (24 hours)The Resident Assistant is responsible for providing high-quality care and services to residents to support the choices of residents, while maintaining consistency with regulations and established best practices.Provide medical and physical care to residents to meet their daily needs and enable them to function at the highest possible level based upon resident preferences, regulations and established best practices. Help each resident achieve “their best day”. Demonstrate flexibility to adjust priorities in response to resident needs.Assist residents with dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting.Assist residents with transferring, repositioning and walking.Obtain vital signs accurately and report changes in resident health status.Maintain all required documentation in accordance with regulations and established clinical best practices.Participate actively in the resident’s care planning and care conference, serving as the residents' closest advocate in provision of care and honoring their preferences.Create a positive dining experience for customers. Assist residents with eating. Encourage resident participation in the dining program, and meal activities. Assist in preparing, storing, recording and serving meals, beverages and snacks for residents/customers.Greet each person with warmth and sincerity.
