Mennonite Village Continuing Care Retirement Community in Albany, Oregon is hiring a Full Time Resident Assistant to support residents with daily living activities, hygiene, and health monitoring on swing shift.

You will document care, follow care plans, promote participation in activities, and provide emotional support to residents. The role emphasizes dignity, safety, and compassionate, patient-centered care within a nonprofit community.

Qualifications

• Must have Heimlich Maneuver training.
• First aid certification and Food handler's card within first 120 days of employment.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Compassionate bedside manner and empathy toward residents.
• Ability to accurately document activities in writing.
• Understanding of and commitment to residents' rights and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable and adhere to a resident's service plans.
• Provide hygiene and general care of resident's skin, nails, hair, eyes, ears, mouth, and face.
• Assist resident in performing activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assist with dressing, bathing, toileting, and grooming as needed.
• Respond to call lights promptly and ensure accessibility.
• Respond in a timely manner to residents wearing safety devices.
• Assist with preparation, serving, setup, and feeding meals or snacks.
• Monitor health status and report changes to Team Leader or nurse.
• Offer emotional support and validation for residents.
• Encourage participation in activities and social engagement.
• Engage with residents by involving them in basic tasks to redirect behaviors.

Responsibilities include assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADL), monitoring their health status, maintaining accurate documentation, promoting participation in activities, and ensuring safety during care procedures.

Salary: $17.00 - $21.50 per hour
