Job summary

Vivie in South Saint Paul, MN is seeking a part-time Resident Assistant to provide hands-on support to residents, assisting with daily activities, meals, and mobility while maintaining a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

This role emphasizes teamwork and clear communication with staff and residents. CNA certification is preferred and background checks are required to ensure a safe, dignified living space for all residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving or personal care is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English well enough to communicate with staff, residents, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral care, toileting and mobility.
• Support residents with meals, restorative care, and life skills, respecting preferences.
• Encourage participation in social, recreational, and wellness activities to improve quality of life.
• Help maintain a clean, safe living environment through housekeeping and laundry tasks.
• Prepare, store, and serve meals and snacks.
• Monitor changes in residents' health or mood and report to nursing staff.
• Welcome new residents and assist with transitions to the home.
• Perform other duties to support the care team.

Job description

Schedule: Part Time | 6:00 pm to 2:30 pm| 64 hours per pay period | Schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday requirement. Schedule is Week 1 (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday), Week 2 (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday). Pay Range: $19-$23.65 (non-exempt) based on location, qualifications, and experience. Full time and part time Resident Assistants receive incentive pay of $5 per hour for shifts picked up outside their regular schedule block!!

As a Resident Assistant At Vivie, You Will

• Assist residents with daily activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral care, toileting, and mobility.
• Support residents with meals, restorative care, and life skills, respecting their preferences.
• Encourage residents to engage in social, recreational, and wellness activities to enhance their quality of life.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment through housekeeping, laundry, and organizing resident spaces.
• Prepare, store, and serve meals, beverages, and snacks while promoting a positive dining experience.
• Monitor and report any changes in residents' health or emotional well-being to nursing staff.
• Welcome new residents and help them transition smoothly into their new home.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and ensure exceptional care.

This Job Also Requires

• Previous experience as a caregiver, personal care assistant, or similar role is preferred but not required.
• Critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal effectiveness.
• Minnesota or Wisconsin CNA certification (preferred and may be required for some levels of assisted living).
• Ability to pass a state-required background study.
• Physical ability to perform the duties required by the position.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English well enough to communicate with staff, residents, and visitors.
