Job summary

Great Lakes Management in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Resident Assistant to provide hands-on physical and emotional support to residents and to assist with ADLs as outlined in each resident’s service agreement. You will help residents engage in activities and maintain independence while communicating with residents, families, and the case manager.

The role requires documentation, collaboration with a Registered Nurse, and a compassionate, patient-first approach in a long-term care environment.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in long-term care or assisted living.
• Certification as Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, or CNA preferred.
• Ability to make responsible decisions and act in the resident's best interests.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs as indicated by the service agreement.
• Help each resident reach and maintain the highest level of independence.
• Provide residents with physical and emotional support.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per the resident service agreement.
• Observe residents and report changes to the case manager.
• Interact with residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection.
• Complete all required documentation daily, service schedule, flow sheet, communication book, etc.

Resident Assistant Job Objective(s):

The Resident Assistant is responsible for providing hands -on care, both physical and emotional, as outlined in each resident’s service agreement. R esponsible for effectively communicating with residents, families, and notifying the case manager of any changes in condition or concerns. The Resident Assistant assist s in the dining room and participating in activities and outings .
