Job summary

Great Lakes Management invites applications for a Resident Assistant in Maplewood, MN. The role includes hands-on care, emotional support, and coordination with families and the case manager, with a 64-hour per pay period schedule from 2pm to 10pm.

You will assist residents with ADLs, support independence, help with treatments under RN delegation, observe changes, and document daily activities. Preferred candidates have prior long-term care experience and CNA/HHAs are welcomed.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in long term care or assisted living (Preferred).
• Registered as a Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (Preferred).
• Ability to make responsible choices and decisions and act in the resident's best interests.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) as indicated on the individualized service agreement.
• Help each resident to reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence.
• Provide residents with both physical and emotional support.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per the resident service agreement.
• The Resident Assistant observes clients and reports changes in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, loss of appetite, weight, etc. to the case manager.
• Interact with residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection as appropriate.
• Complete all required documentation daily, service schedule, flow sheet, communication book, etc.

Resident Assistant Job Objective(s)

The Resident Assistant is responsible for providing hands on care, both physical and emotional, as outlined in each resident's service agreement. R esponsible for effectively communicating with residents, families, and notifying the case manager of any changes in condition or concerns. The Resident Assistant assist s in the dining room and participating in activities and outings.
