Job summary

Deer Crest Senior Living in Red Wing, MN is seeking a Resident Assistant/caregiver to provide personal care and health-related services to residents. You will be part of a compassionate team supporting independence and wellbeing.

This role includes on-the-job training, responsibility for medication assistance under supervision, and evening shifts with eligible pay. Ebenezer, Minnesota's largest senior living operator, values respect, teamwork, and growth.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year caregiving experience.
• Ability to use computers and mobile devices.
• If under 18, MN NA registry required and cannot pass medications.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares including bathing, dressing, grooming.
• Administer medications or assist under RN direction (insulin injections).
• Record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and other vital signs under RN supervision.
• Assist with meals, dining room service and meal trays.
• Support resident social and recreational activities as assigned and requested.

This Resident Assistant /caregiver position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents' physical and emotional wellbeing. Role will be provided on the job training to be able to pass medications. supported by DHS RN, Nurses, Regional, Triage Nurse, Culinary and other interdisciplinary team memembers.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:
• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
• Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to use technology in the form of computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines
• If under 18 must be on the MN NA registry and site must be able to manage restrictions that they are not able to pass medications or operate a mechanical lift independently.
