Job summary

The Sanctuary at Brooklyn Center in Brooklyn Center, MN, managed by Ebenezer, is hiring a Resident Assistant for evening and weekend shifts. The role provides personal care and health-related services to residents, under RN direction, within a warm senior living community.

Ideal candidates may be students or healthcare majors, with an opportunity to gain hands-on caregiving experience while supporting residents in daily activities and social events.

Qualifications

• Experience: less than 1 year
• Ability to use technology such as computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines
• If under 18 must be on the MN NA registry and site must be able to manage restrictions that they are not able to pass medications or operate a mechanical lift independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Provide health-related services under RN direction (blood glucose monitoring, basic treatments)
• Administer medications under RN direction
• Assist with meal service and dining room support
• Assist with activities and social events as assigned
• Observe residents and report changes in condition to staff
• Respond to emergencies and maintain safety during shifts

The Sanctuary at Brooklyn Center Senior Living is an affordable, friendly senior living community located near the crossroads of I-694, I-94 and Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center. Just down the street from CVS and CUB Foods, The Sanctuary community hosts 158 Assisted Living and Memory Care apartments. Our residents enjoy worry-free living in a warm and friendly community with services to meet their individual needs. Managed by Ebenezer, Minnesota's largest senior living operator.

We are hiring a Resident Assistant. Perfect schedule for a student or healthcare major college students!

Evening shifts, weekend

Week :1 No Schedule

Week 2: Sat & Sun - 2pm-10:30pm

Offer evening shift differntial pay

This every other weekend cargiver position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents' physical and emotional wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:
• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
• Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.
