Job summary

Ebenezer, a warm senior living community in Saint Cloud, MN, seeks a dedicated caregiver to provide personal care and health-related services to residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to support daily living activities and emotional wellbeing.

Responsibilities include bathing, dressing, feeding, medication assistance under RN, transfers, meal service, activity support, and reporting changes.

• Experience with personal care in a caregiving setting.

• Assists with treatments per care plan under RN supervision (e.g., blood glucose monitoring).
• Administers or assists with medications under RN direction (insulin where applicable).
• Performs 1-2 person transfers and uses mechanical lift as trained.
• Observes residents and reports changes to staff or RN.

Job description

The Sanctuary of St. Cloud is an affordable, friendly senior living community located near Highway 10 and County 23 in St. Cloud, MN. Our community hosts 101 Assisted Living and 36 Memory Care apartments. Our residents enjoy worry-free living in a warm and friendly community with services to meet their individual needs. This position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents' physical and emotional wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:
• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
• Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.

Required Qualifications

• Less than 1 year
• Ability to use technology in the form of computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines
• If under 18 must be on the MN NA registry and site must be able to manage restrictions that they are not able to pass medications or operate a mechanical lift independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience
