Job summary

American House Senior Living Communities in Michigan is seeking a Resident Assistant (RA) for afternoon shifts, with weekend rotation. You’ll support residents with daily living, promote independence, and help create a warm, safe community.

You will assist with ADLs, monitor changes, encourage engagement, follow care plans, and collaborate with team to deliver compassionate, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, patient approach to seniors.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Previous caregiving, senior living, or healthcare experience required.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25-50 lbs for resident care.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and report observations to leadership.
• Encourage resident engagement in activities, programs, and social events.
• Follow individualized care plans to ensure high-quality, person-centered care.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in resident apartments and common areas.
• Support residents with meals, hydration, and light housekeeping.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with residents, families, and team members.
• Support new resident orientation and help them feel welcome.
