Job summary

Stellar Living in Richmond, TX seeks compassionate CAREGIVER to assist residents with daily living, meals, and activities. This PRN role requires weekend and holiday availability and a willingness to work shifts from early morning to late evening.

You will maintain records, support safety, and contribute to a friendly, clean environment while upholding HIPAA standards and high customer service. Training provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of resident care experience preferred with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs, encouraging independence.
• Serve meals and assist with meal prep, promote nutrition/hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities to promote socialization.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, incidents, changes in residents.
• Ensure clean, safe environment; perform housekeeping duties.
• Follow procedures in emergencies and respond to calls.
• Know resident locations and report if someone is missing.
• Support a cooperative team and attend in-service training.
• Be an active member of the emergency response team.
• Maintain professional appearance and hygiene per policy.

Location: Clayton Oaks Living, an Assisted Living senior community with Memory Care

Shifts Available: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am| 4 on 2 off rotation

PRN Shifts Available

Must be available to work weekends and holidays

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
• Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
