Job summary

Clayton Oaks Living in Richmond, VA is seeking Resident Assistants to provide compassionate, hands-on care in a warm, homelike environment. Responsibilities include daily living support, meal assistance, and engaging residents in leisure activities.

The role requires 6 months to 1 year of resident care experience, strong communication skills, and HIPAA awareness. Shifts include 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, and 10pm-6am with PRN options and weekend/holiday availability.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
• Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

Location: Clayton Oaks Living, an Assisted Living senior community with Memory Care

Shifts Available: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am| 4 on 2 off rotation

PRN Shifts Available

Must be available to work weekends and holidays

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
