Job summary

Amira Choice of Plymouth is hiring a caregiver to support residents with daily living activities and health-related services under supervision. The role includes evening shifts and a 48-hour schedule every two weeks, with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

You will assist with personal care, meal service, and documenting resident status in a warm, community setting. The position requires compassion, reliability, and the ability to use basic technology; under 18, MN NA registry

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of experience.
• Ability to use technology (computers, handheld devices, cell phones, fax).
• If under 18, MN NA registry and restrictions apply for medications and lifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares (bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Provide health-related services under RN direction (glucose monitoring, medications).
• Perform laundry and housekeeping duties per schedule and assist with meals.
• Observe residents and report changes in condition to staff.
• Respond to emergencies and document observations.

Job Overview

Opened in 2018, Amira Choice of Plymouth is one of our newest senior communities. We are located at the intersection of Old Rockford Road and Highway 55 in the Northwest suburb of Plymouth, MN. We offer 94 units of Independent, Assisted Living as well as Memory Care and Care Suites. This caregiver schedule includes;

• 48 hours per two weeks
• evening shift
• every other weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:
• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
• Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.

• If under 18 must be on the MN NA registry and site must be able to manage restrictions that they are not able to pass medications or operate a mechanical lift independently.
