Job summary

Heritage at Irene Woods in Memphis, TN is seeking a Resident Care Associate (Nursing Assistant) to provide compassionate personal care to residents in a memory care and assisted living setting.

You will assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, meal support, and daily activities, while reporting changes to the nursing team. No certification required; training provided; friendly hospitality culture with a focus on resident comfort.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year experience working as a PCA/HHA/RA preferred.
• One year experience working in assisted living/memory care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist all residents with personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, incontinent care, foot care, vital signs, height and weight checks per policy.
• Make beds in the morning, turn down in the evening, and change bed linens weekly or PRN.
• Complete resident’s personal laundry as assigned.
• Assist residents with meal times, cut food, and encourage to eat.
• Promote a calm atmosphere for residents.
• Complete and document shift assignments; report if unable to complete to nursing supervisor.
• Report to nurse on duty and Director of Health Services all unusual resident behavior.
• Provide activities as planned and/or directed.
• Respond to call lights and emergencies promptly.
• Provide emergency care within scope of practice.

The Heritage at Irene Woods is recruiting for Resident Care Associates – you may call this role a Nursing Assistant, no certification required. We require a very high level of customer service so candidates who have a passion for seniors are needed.

While experience is appreciated, we are willing to train those who have a true heart for working with seniors. Resident Care Associates perform various resident care activities and related nonprofessional services essential to caring for personal needs and comfort of residents.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Resident Care Associate:

• Assist all residents/clients with a high quality of personal care, including but not limited to; bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, incontinent care, foot care, vital signs, height and weight checks per policy.
• Make all beds as needed in A.M., turn down as needed in P.M. and change bed linens once each week or PRN.
• Complete resident’s personal laundry as assigned.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• One (1) year experience working as a PCA/HHA/RA preferred
• One (1) year experience working in assisted living/memory care preferred
