Job summary

Heritage at Irene Woods in Memphis, TN is seeking a Resident Care Associate (Nursing Assistant) to provide personal care and comfort to residents. No certification is required; we offer training and a supportive team dedicated to hospitality and dignity for seniors.

You will assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility, and daily living tasks, document care, respond to call lights, and support nursing staff. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year PCA/HHA/RA experience preferred.
• No certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, incontinent care).
• Make beds, change linens, and assist with laundry.
• Assist residents during meals; cut food and encourage eating.
• Maintain a calm, respectful atmosphere for residents and guests.
• Document shift assignments and report issues to nursing staff.
• Respond to call lights and emergencies promptly.
• Provide activities as directed and assist nursing staff as needed.

The Heritage at Irene Woods is recruiting for Resident Care Associates – you may call this role a Nursing Assistant, no certification required. We require a very high level of customer service so candidates who have a passion for seniors are needed.

While experience is appreciated, we are willing to train those who have a true heart for working with seniors. Resident Care Associates perform various resident care activities and related nonprofessional services essential to caring for personal needs and comfort of residents.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Resident Care Associate:

• Assist all residents/clients with a high quality of personal care, including but not limited to; bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, incontinent care, foot care, vital signs, height and weight checks per policy.
• Make all beds as needed in A.M., turn down as needed in P.M. and change bed linens once each week or PRN.
• Complete resident’s personal laundry as assigned.
• Assist residents with meal time. Cut food. Encourage to eat.
• Promote a calm atmosphere.
• Complete and document shift assignments as assigned, if unable to complete, report to nursing supervisor.
• Report to nurse on duty and Director of Health Services all unusual behavior of resident (changing of status).
• Provide activities as planned and/or directed.
• Respond to call lights and emergencies in a timely manner.
• Provide emergency care within scope of practice.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• One (1) year experience working as a PCA/HHA/RA preferred
• One (1) year experience working in assisted living/memory care preferred
