Job summary

Laurel's Edge Assisted Living in Minnesota is seeking a Resident Assistant for a part-time morning shift (7am–3pm). The RA provides direct routine care in activities of daily living under supervision, supporting tenants to achieve the highest practicable well-being.

The role may include training in medication administration and involves collaboration with nursing staff to ensure safety and quality of life for residents.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated critical thinking and decision making, teamwork, and self-leadership skills.
• Demonstrated communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to clearly speak and proficiently read and write in English.

Responsibilities

Description:

The Resident Assistant is responsible for providing tenants with the highest quality of direct routine care in all activities of daily living, under the supervision of the licensed nurse or AL Clinical Manager and in accordance with the Service Plan, MDH Nursing Assistant Program standards, the Tenant’s Bill of Rights and the campus Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. According to the Plan of Care for the tenant, RAs apply skills in basic nursing, personal care and basic restorative services while understanding the mental health and social service needs of the tenant and being mindful of the needs in cognitively impaired tenants. The RA is part of the interdisciplinary care team that is dedicated to promoting independence, autonomous decision-making and facilitating tenants to achieve and maintain the highest practicable physical, mental and psychosocial well-being.

The Resident Assistant can be trained in medication administration and give tenants medications as needed.
