Cedar Creek of High Plains, a regional healthcare provider and a true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Resident Assistant at our Cedar Creek of High Plains community. This position requires overnight availability.
As a Resident Assistant, you will assist and provide direction to residents with personal care needs, enabling them to maintain good personal hygiene, carry out activities of daily living, maintain good health, and participate in community activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting residents with personal care needs, such as grooming, hygiene, dressing, and nutrition.
- Responding to signal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine residents' needs proactively.
- Taking and recording vital signs and food and fluid intake/output as directed.
- Transporting or assisting residents with walking, turning, or repositioning, alone or with assistance.
- Changing bed linens, running errands, directing visitors, and answering the telephone.
- Assisting with laundry and housekeeping duties.
- Helping residents to and from the dining room and assisting with meals.
- Encouraging and supporting residents to participate in activities.
- Listening to residents' concerns and reporting observations to the care team.
- Promoting residents' physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing with the goal of maximizing independence.
- Understanding and respecting residents' Advance Directives.
- Communicating effectively with residents' families regarding their care.
- Collaborating with team members and taking initiative in conflict resolution.
- Performing physical tasks as required, including lifting up to 50 pounds independently and up to 200 pounds with assistance.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of experience as a Resident Assistant preferred.
- Proficiency in internet browsers, Microsoft Office, electronic health records (EHR), and HR systems if applicable.
