Job summary

La Crosse County is seeking a compassionate Resident Assistant to support residents at Hillview Health Care Campus in La Crosse, WI. You will assist with daily living activities, safety, and meaningful engagement.

We offer irregular part-time schedules (6:30 AM–3:00 PM days and 10:30 PM–7:00 PM nights with weekend/holiday rotations) and starting pay of $18.51 per hour, plus shift and weekend differentials. A dedicated benefits package is available.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and dependable individuals who communicate well and work collaboratively.
• Experience with RCAC/CBRF or geriatric care is preferred.
• CBRF Registry and DHS 83 core courses are required for CBRF assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, hygiene support, and assist with ADLs.
• Prepare meals, assist with feeding, and follow individual diet plans.
• Administer medications and treatments under RN supervision.
• Maintain clean, safe living areas and follow infection control practices.
• Document care, observe resident condition, and report changes promptly.
• Support therapy and activity plans; help with housekeeping tasks.
• Drive residents to appointments and community activities.
• Uphold resident rights, confidentiality, and all policies.

Starting Pay

• Contribute to a positive, respectful team and community environment.

Requirements:

• Preferred experience in RCAC/CBRF or working with geriatric, mentally ill, or developmentally disabled individuals.
• CBRF Registry and DHS 83 core courses required for CBRF assignments.
• Valid driver’s license (if driving facility vehicles).
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and assist with transfers up to 50 lbs.
• Must be 18 and pass background check per WI Caregiver Law.
• Reliable attendance and flexibility with assignments.
