Job summary

Great Lakes Management is seeking a resident assistant for The Glenn Buffalo Assisted Living and Memory Care to provide hands-on care and emotional support to residents, assist in dining and activities, and communicate changes to the case manager.

This part-time, on-call role offers pay between $16 and $24 per hour, shift differentials, 401(k) match, health benefits, paid vacation and holidays, and a free meal per shift.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in long term care or assisted living residence preferred.
• Registered as Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Ability to make responsible choices and act in the resident’s best interests.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs as indicated in service agreements.
• Help residents achieve and maintain independence.
• Provide physical and emotional support to residents.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per the service agreement.
• Observe residents and report changes to the case manager.
• Interact with residents to provide reassurance, engagement and redirection.
• Complete required documentation daily and update scheduling records.

Resident Assistant Job Objective(s):

The Resident Assistant is responsible for providing hands -on care, both physical and emotional, as outlined in each resident’s service agreement. R esponsible for effectively communicating with residents, families, and notifying the case manager of any changes in condition or concerns. The Resident Assistant assist s in the dining room and participating in activities and outings .

Resident Assistant Job Responsibilitie s :

• Assist residents with ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) as indicated on the individualized service agreement
• Help each resident to reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence.
• Provide residents with both physical and emotional support.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per the resident service agreement
• The Resident Assistant o bserve s client s and report s changes in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, loss of appetite, weight, etc. to the case manager.
• Interactwith residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection as appropriate .
• Complete all required documentation daily, service schedule, flow sheet, communication book, etc.

Qualifications :

• Six months of experience in long term care or assisted living residence (Preferred)
• Registered as a Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aid or Certified Nursing Assistant (Preferred)
• Ability to make responsible choices and decisions and act in the resident’s best interests .
