Job summary

The Aspenwood Company is seeking a compassionate Resident Assistant to provide exceptional care for seniors in a warm, homelike setting at Heartis Mid Cities. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, meals, and engaging residents in social and leisure activities.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED, 6 months to 1 year of senior care experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, promoting independence.
• Serve meals and assist with meal preparation, encouraging proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, helping residents socialize and form friendships.
• Maintain accurate records of leisure activities, incidents, observations, and changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment; perform light housekeeping tasks.
• Follow procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including call pendants and phones.
• Know each resident’s location, remind to sign out, and report if a resident cannot be located.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.

Location: Heartis Mid Cities, an Independent and Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community

Pay Rate: $16.00/hr. - $17.00/hr.

Shifts Available

• 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.


• 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Must be available to work weekends and holidays

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.


• Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.


• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.


• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.


• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.


• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.


• Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.


• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.


• Attend all required in-service training sessions.


• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.


• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.


• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.


• Excellent communication and customer service skills.


• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.


• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
